Chock full of beta carotene (hence their name) carrots have been studied for their ability to help prevent glaucoma and improve eyesight, particularly in the dark.  It is also believed that the orange/yellow pigment of carrots contain properties that help to protect us all against cardiovascular disease. Carrots contain anthocyanidins, nutritional properties that are known for their support of collagen, a structural protein found in our bodies that provide strength & elasticity to our skin and our connective tissues. Preliminary research has been encouraging in the study of carrots having a protective effect against colon cancer.  We feed carrots to our Bear on an almost daily basis, primarily because we like to share our snacks!  We love them so much for their delicious taste and for their wellness benefits that we had to include them in our Skin Soothe biscuits.
